October Zoom Meeting

Welcome to our October 4-H Meeting! This page will supplement our Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, October 14th from 4 to 5pm. You should have received an email with the agenda and Zoom link.

Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H Pledge

Kyle Brady and Kasen Brady will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge.  For our new members, here is the 4-H Pledge.

Roll Call: Emily de Rutte

Emily, our Vice-President of Membership, will be taking roll during zoom by asking all members to type their names in the chat box. If you attend all General Club Meetings, you will earn a 100% Attendance Pin for your hat.

Approval of Minutes: Mia

Rowan, our Recording Secretary, prepares the minutes, which is a record of what happens at our General Meetings. Members review the minutes and then vote to approve them at the following meeting. Here are our minutes from September.

Treasurer's Report: Clay McDonell

Clay, our Treasurer, does all the bookkeeping for the Club and prepares a monthly financial report to share with the members.

For the month of September, there was no income. The total expenses for the month was $143.85 for general supplies and printing. The closing balance was $6743.93.

 

Correspondence Report: Leo McDonell

Leo, our Correspondence Secretary, sends thank you notes and other letters and records any incoming correspondence on behalf of the club. There was no correspondence for September.

Committee Reports

From the 4H CCC meeting: Achievement Night is Saturday, October 17th at 1pm. Be sure to RSVP if you are planning on attending. 

Community Service: Millie Wright

We will still be hosting our annual food drive for the Redwood Empire Food Bank Drive. Instead of bringing items to our club meeting, we will have a donation barrel at my house that members can drop food off to over the weekend of November 7th and 8th. More details can be found in the October Newsletter.

Programming

After adjournment, we will break out into our pod zoom rooms. The Community Service-Citizenship pod will be working with the Smithsonian Archival Program to create transcripts of historical documents to make them easily available to the public. The Science pod will engage in a tower building competition and do an experiment to learn about chemical reactions, and the Communication-Arts pod will start work on their art challenge and make an art portfolio.

Announcements:

  1. November General Meeting: Nov. 11th at 4 p.m. on Zoom 

  2. Prize Bin “Pull” raffle winner. Prize Bin opportunities for next month will include November birthdays, families that donate canned goods to our food drive, and members that go to Achievement Night, turn in a card for the YAL contest or write an article for the newsletter.
